The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) started today (11) the 2nd pilot test for the 12th Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture, a preparatory step with tests to ensure quality and coverage of the survey that will be carried out all over the country. Six cities in four Major Regions will receive work teams. One of them is Corumbá, in the state of Mato Gross do Sul.
The enumerators split into teams to start data collection in the afternoon. Visits to locations where the producers were not found are planned the coming days. Also according to the enumerators, the warm welcome received was the day's highlight.
Representing the Pantanal biome, Corumbá (MS), was also chosen for housing big establishments where livestock is predominant. Flood seasonality in Pantanal, an environmentally sensitive area, causes yield variation in the Major Region, which was also considered.
The operation is also being executed in the cities of Barcarena (PA), Uruçuí (PI), Rio Verde (GO), Irati (PR) and Viamão (RS), the cities chosen for this round of tests. You can follow the activities of each day on the IBGE News Agency, Census website and on the Institute's social media channels: Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.
