Authorities send messages congratulating IBGE on its 90th anniversary

Ministers of State, public authorities and representatives of Brazilian institutions sent messages in support of the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), this Friday (29), highlighting the historical and institutional relevance of the body and wishing success in the commemorative activities.
Among the statements, the Minister of Racial Equality, Rachel Barros, reaffirmed her commitment to the racial agenda and to the Brazilian people, wishing success to the event. The Minister of the Civil House, Miriam Belchior, thanked for the invitation to the commemorative seminar and expressed her appreciation for the initiative.
The president of the Central Bank of Brazil, Gabriel Galípolo, thanked the IBGE for the invitation and congratulated the Institute, wishing success in the celebrations. The Minister of Education, Leonardo Barchini, sent his greetings and best wishes of success, while the Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, also expressed his gratitude for participating in the event.
The Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger, Wellington Dias, wished the event success. The Minister of Communications, Frederico de Siqueira Filho, reiterated his appreciation for the initiative and the work developed by the Institute.
The president of the Superior Labor Court, Vieira de Mello Filho, highlighted the relevance of the initiative and the trajectory of the IBGE, emphasizing the Institute's contribution to the development of statistics and geosciences in Brazil. The Minister of the Comptroller General of the Union, Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, and the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, also expressed their support, thanking the organizers for the invitation and wishing the ceremony success.
The Superintendent of SUDENE (Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast), Francisco Alexandre, highlighted the importance of the date for the history of Brazilian institutions. The Minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations, José Guimarães, and the Minister for Women, Márcia Helena Carvalho Lopes, also sent their best wishes.
In the social and cultural area, the Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, sent his congratulations, while the Minister of Culture, Margareth Menezes, thanked for the invitation and wished success. The Minister of Planning and Budget, Bruno Moretti, also expressed his best wishes.
Other authorities, such as the Minister of Transportation, George Santoro, and the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Cavaliere, expressed their appreciation for the initiative. The Attorney General of the Union, Jorge Messias, thanked them for the invitation and explained his inability to attend. The Minister of Finance, Dario Durigan, reiterated his best wishes and institutional consideration.
Messages were also sent by the Minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, Márcio Elias Rosa, who emphasized the relevance of the initiative; the Minister of Social Security, Wolney Queiroz Maciel; the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula; and the Minister of Ports and Airports, Tomé Franca, all wishing the event success.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Luciana Santos, renewed her thanks for the invitation and highlighted the importance of the scheduled activities. The Minister of Defense, José Mucio Monteiro Filho, also sent a message.
In addition to the authorities in office, the celebration received symbolic expressions of support, such as that of the director of the Ministry of Social Development, Saumíneo Nascimento, who conveyed congratulations to the presidency, the board, and the employees of IBGE on the institution's 90th anniversary. The former president of the Institute, Wasmália Bivar, also congratulated the agency on its trajectory.
The messages reinforce national recognition of IBGE's role in producing essential information for Brazil's planning and development, consolidating its importance over nine decades.
