IBGE workers celebrate its 90th anniversary in institutional video

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), workers of the institute participated in an institutional action to produce commemorative videos. The initiative gathered professionals from all the directorates and divisions sharing messages of recognition, belonging and praise of the Institute's history, also including the official sentences of the commemorative campaign: IBGE 90 years: My Brazil, Our IBGE.

Recorded in different workplaces, the videos evidence the diversity that characterixes the Institute and reinforce the important role of collective work its history. Officials working in technical, administration and communication departments were the voices of messages that highlight  the individual nature of the data produced to generate essential statistical and geographic information for the country, in an institution that has traced the transformations of Brazil for nine decades. 

The audiovisual material was produced in a cooperative initiative of the Multimedia Hub and of the Social Communication Division (CCS) of the Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination (CDDI), which was in charge of the recording, editing and post-production of content.

According to the audiovisual producer Thiago Antunes, the process was marked by the engagement of teams and the diversity of reports. “Bringing together several voices of the IBGE in one same initiative was a great experience. Each video shows a little bit of the history and the identity of those who build the institute every day."

Audiovisual producer Marina Guerra, also from the Multimedia Hub, highlighted the affectionate nature of the campaign. “More than recording speeches, we could express feelings of belonging and institutional recognition. The videos show the IBGE from the perspective of those who experience and build this path daily.”

The department of Content and Marketing (GECOP) organized the campaign and promoted the integration between the different areas. According to the deputy manager Adriano Monteiro, the action was intended to strengthen instituional identity. “The 90 years campaign is a movement to value our history, but mainly our human capital. The videos translate this connection between people and the Institute."

The manager of Content and Marketing, orenzo Mello, highlighted the importance of reducing the distance between the internal and the external audience. “By amplifying workers' voices, we managed to humanize the Institute and reinforce the relevance of its work to society, besides praising those who build this institution day after day.”

This initiative is part of the program in commemoration of the IBGE's 90th anniversary, which includes communication actions, events and institutional content aimed at the appreciation of memory and the institute's future projections.
