The president of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Professor Marcio Pochmann, met, this Thursday (April 16), in Brasília, with the president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Cármen Lúcia. The meeting marked a moment of high institutional convergence and was successful, reinforcing the dialogue between two central institutions for the Brazilian State.

More than a protocol meeting, a concrete horizon for dialogue and the possibility of building a technical cooperation agreement between the IBGE and the Superior Electoral Court were opened, signaling the common commitment to strengthening Brazilian democracy.

"This is a strategic step to increase transparency, qualify democratic processes and strengthen society's trust in institutions," highlighted the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann.

The rapprochement between the IBGE and the TSE opens up perspectives for the integration between official statistical production and electoral governance, contributing to the improvement of public policies, the strengthening of citizenship and the consolidation of democracy in Brazil.
