IBGE organizes workshop “IBGEeduca Digit@l” on the use of data in learning, management and for citizenship in São Francisco do Conde

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will deliver, on Thursday (12/02), at 9 am, he workshop “IBGEeduca Digit@l: How to Turn IBGE Data into Learning, Public POlicies, Management and Citizenship.” The activity will take place at the City Council Auditorium in the municipality of São Francisco do Conde (BA) and there limited spots available.
Aimed at educators, civil servants, students and anyone interested in official data, the workshop will present practical ways to apply statistics and territory-related information produced by the IBGE in the classroom, in the formaluation and assessment of public policies and in initiatives related to social control and citizen participation. The idea is to bring the public closer to the Institute's information bases, exploring demographic, socieconomic and territorial indicators in a contextualized and easy-to-learn way.
The activity is part of the IBGEeduca actions, the educational arm of the IBGE and intends to promote data culture by translating data into learning inputs and evidence for decision making. Materials such as population graphs and thematic maps are used as sources for reading, text interpretation and data communication.
