Released simultaneously at COP30 in Belém and at an event in Salvador, the 12th Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture now counts on an exclusive portal to gather information about the largest and most complete statistical survey into the structure and production of agriculture in the country.
Information about the stages of the operation – such as the pilot test, which will take place starting on December 1st in six municipalities, official data and the complete survey schedule – is already available on the new portal, which also offers more details about the enumeration, carried out by the IBGE, of the agricultural establishments located in the national territory.
Transparency and objectivity, key characteristics for the portal, were highlighted by the Coordinator of Online Services and Experiences, Roberto Stoeterau: “The website dynamically provides the main characteristics of the census and its stages. Just like the website developed for the Consumer Expenditure Survey (POF), the objective is to present information about the survey to the whole Brazilian society, regardless of segmentation.”
With the motto "Together we will harvest the largest data crop in Brazil," the 12th Census of Agriculture, Forestry, and Aquaculture is expected to visit approximately 5 million agricultural establishments in the country's 5,571 municipalities, generate around 35,000 temporary jobs, and update the detailed portrait of essential activities that produce food, wealth, work, and income.
The survey follows the thematic coverage that provides comparability over time, especially in relation to the last Census of Agriculture, carried out in 2017, and introduces new themes, such as issues related to the environment, technologies, and the destination of production. The stages of this census can be followed through the new portal. "Throughout the census operation, new items will be incorporated into the website, which will ultimately present the results of one of the largest statistical surveys in our country," reinforces Mr. Stoeterau.
